“The purpose of learning is growth, and our minds, unlike our bodies, can continue growing as long as we live.”

– Mortimer Adler

“I grew up in Coburg where my dad built our first house and I attended Coburg Elementary starting in 2nd grade. After high school I moved to Portland to work full time at OHSU in Oncology while attending classes at PCC for pre-nursing. I have recently been accepted into the Accelerated BSN nursing program at Concordia University St. Paul. I hope to work in ER or ICU as an RN and may continue as a nurse anesthetist eventually. I love spending time with family and friends, exercising, and traveling. I’m looking forward to my future and giving back to my community!”

- Kailee Wheeler

“I have lived in Coburg my entire life, and I have volunteered as the Coburg Fire photographer for the past several years. I currently attend school at Seton Hall University, where I am studying International Relations. After that, I hope to attend law school.”

— Sophie Ulm

- 2023 -

“Having grown up in Coburg, I am very familiar with the connectivity within the community -- we rally around and support one another in times of need, and I feel very grateful to be from a community where everyone is familiar and invested in communal success. Through my studies of sociology and the American legal system, I plan to obtain my J.D. and work locally to ameliorate affects of incarceration. I plan to continue my work with the University of Oregon's Prison Education Program to work hands-on with those in our community negatively impacted by this country's culture of incarceration -- largely revolving around access to education.”

- Francesca Critelli

- 2022 -

“After moving to Coburg in 2014 to accompany our grandmother, the question of what I want to do with my career has been stirring in my mind, and I figure a good starting point would be at Lane Community College to study physics and eventually transfer to Oregon State.”

— James Alexander Wood

“I have always been driven to succeed even despite many obstacles of my own, and I have always taken the extra steps and put in the extra work to achieve my goals, and I want to be the first in my immediate family to obtain my bachelor’s degree.”

— Carly Wheeler
