The railroad bridge over the McKenzie River between Coburg and Eugene. “This bridge was originally constructed over the John Day River in north central Oregon for the Oregon Railway and Navigation Company, and relocated and reused by the Southern Pacific Railroad Company here in 1907.”
The Coburg United Methodist Church was destroyed in a fire on December 21, 1947. The fire occurred after a Sunday School Christmas program. The community came together to rebuild the church as it stands today.
Food preservation was a big part of life in local agricultural communities such as Coburg. A lot of love and pride went into these kinds of recipes which would allow families to enjoy the fruits (and vegetables) of their labor all year.
